Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how talvia GmbH ("talvia", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) on talvia.ch and the talvia platform. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember preferences, and provide a better user experience. Similar technologies such as local storage and session storage work the same way but are stored inside your browser rather than as separate files.
2. Cookies We Use
| Name / key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__Secure-better-auth.session_token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. Set by talvia itself, HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, and readable only over HTTPS. | 7 days, or until you sign out |
__Secure-better-auth.dont_remember | Strictly necessary | Set when you sign in without "remember me", so your session ends rather than being extended | Until you sign out |
Google sign-in cookies (accounts.google.com) | Third-party — strictly necessary only if you use Google sign-in | Authenticates you with Google's identity service | Set and controlled by Google |
Stripe cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) | Third-party — strictly necessary during checkout | Fraud prevention on payment pages | Session up to 12 months |
That is the whole list. talvia sets no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, and nothing that tracks you across other sites. Signing in is the only thing that puts a talvia cookie on your device. If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting it.
3. Legal Basis
Every cookie listed above is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for — signing in — and is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure platform (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 revFADP). Because we set nothing beyond that, there is currently no consent to give or withdraw. Any future non-essential cookie would be used only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block, delete, or be notified of cookies. Signing out of talvia clears its session cookie. Blocking it will prevent you from signing in, since it is what keeps you signed in.
There is no cookie banner, because there is nothing here to consent to. If that changes, you will be asked before the cookie is set, and you will be able to change your mind.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
